"The Safe Lot for me was just that; a safe place! Being trapped in survival mode trying to find a spot to lay your head at night is absolutely exhausting. The constant worry before I found this incredible program was unbearable. The Safe Lot gave me peace. It gave me a stepping stone to get my bearings and get back on my feet feeling confident again. Knowing I would have 2 meals a week and access to a shower every once in a while was vital for me as well. It helped me maintain a routine to make a better life. Being unhoused is by far one of the most difficult things I have ever had to face and The Safe Lot was my saving grace. By providing me a safe, legal place to be at night to rest and charge my devices I was actually able to work hard and be successful during the day. I hope every city will have a Safe Lot one day because if it can change my life, it can change someone else's life too.
